holiday pants...

when it comes to holiday pants...the fancier you go...the more simple your top can be...the same concept as we discussed a few days ago with holiday skirts...so when i think of pants for the holidays...for parties...for get together's with friends...i say...go all out...tis the season...

taking examples from the fabulous finds consignment boutique...here are some options you might not have thought of...feel free to click on the link below each picture if you see something you like...but most often then not...we have some items in our closet...that have been long forgotten...and just need a little bit of reviving...hope these give you some inspiration...

holiday parties are about shimmer and shine...texture...so why not go for a wide leg pleated pant?  or a rich velvet...in black...or go for a color...like emerald green?  gold or silver pants?  why not?  just pair it with a simple top...and add some lovely bling...or go for a beaded pant...yes...beaded...or pair your gem colored jeans with a fabulous top...add accessories...you are set to enjoy those parties you are hesitating on...because "you don't have anything to wear"...

holiday jackets...

today for holiday wear...we are focusing on jackets...when i think of a jacket for holiday parties...whether dressy or casual...i always think of shimmer...beading...embellishments...and rich fabrics...so as i have been doing all week...we are using examples from lovelies in the fabulous finds consignment boutique...so please be sure to take a peak...but more then that...i am hoping this inspires in you...possibly items that are already in your closet...just waiting to be worn...

what i love about these holiday jackets...most think dressy...but really...they would be great with a pair of jeans as well...so think beyond how you "normally" have worn an outfit...and give it some new life...

holiday golden shoes...

so what could be better then dipping your feet in a little bit of gold for the holiday season?  now of course...i think that gold should be worn other times as well...but for sure during this festive time...so as i have been showing off some of the lovelies in the fabulous finds consignment boutique this week...today we feature all that is gold...in the shoe department...

whether you are a high-heeled gal...or prefer something a bit closer to the ground...try on some gold this season...for a party or two...they go great with the dressiest of outfits...to complimenting a lovely pair of jeans...

and if you see something below that catches your eye...just click on the link below the pic...it will take you straight to that item...happy shopping!

holiday skirts...

yesterday i decided to do a week of holiday party attire...with today's focus on skirts...these are all currently in the fabulous finds consignment boutique...please do take a peak at all of our selections...but more then that...i am hoping to inspire you...and possibly remind you of items that you might already have in your closet...

when it comes to skirts during the holiday season...it is probably one of the easiest outfits to put together...all you need is a fun skirt...think texture...design...color...how about a velvet or leather, lace or brocade?  and with that...you can add a simple black tank top or turtleneck...(or crisp white blouse) whatever your preference...and some tights...and fabulous shoes or boots...and you are set!

if you see something you like below...just click on the link underneath the picture...and it will take you straight to that item...

the holiday dress...

a client that i have been working with for most of this year...who has made amazing strides in her wardrobe...when we first met...she told me she wanted to work on having her own personal style...she wanted to wear things that her friends would say "that is so you"...she didn't want trendy...she didn't want "out there"...she wanted herself...the real person that she knew she was...but wasn't being reflected in her clothes...

so we started on this incredible journey...and at the beginning...mostly what she would say when asked to try something on...was..."that won't work on my body"...now we laugh about it...but back then...it took a while till there was a trust...a trust that she knew what i was doing...and that i was truly there to make her look her absolute best...

so...she called me a few weeks back...her gift to herself was to get a new "wow" holiday dress...she at this point does not question what i give her to try on...but the moment that this dress went on her...and she blurted out "oh my god...i never thought i could look this good..." we both knew it was the right dress...

when figuring out what works for you...and your body...you need to do the work...you need to try on many different styles...until you find the ones that work for you...and know that when something doesn't work...it isn't that something is wrong with you...but that the style is not right...

get your sparkle on...

...for new year's eve...

are you getting excited for the end of the year...and all the celebration that it entails? i am...and one thing that i truly enjoy...especially this time of year...is the sequins...or sparkle...or shimmer...truth be told...i enjoy it anytime of year...but especially during the holiday season...

i have clients asking me all the time if it is still on trend...and i say...yes! still very strong...although i also think that a little sparkle is always a necessity...

so for this new year's eve...whether you are going all out to a big celebration...or staying in with a few close friends...get your sparkle on...it could be in a luscious tank...a sparkly scarf...bling on shoes...or full out sequined dress...

i'm thinking my sparkle will be in my shoes...how about you?

tis the season...

...to be wearing a bit of red...i just got my nails done today...in official christmas red...whether it be something subtle...like a red lipstick...or painted nails...to a red clutch...or perhaps red shoes...or maybe you will be going all out...with a vibrant red dress...

i haven't quite decided on my christmas dinner outfit...i'm leaning towards a beautiful red taffeta skirt...so festive...indeed...but whatever i decide on...i will be sporting a little bit of red...

what will your red be?

the perfect christmas window display...

one of the things i love about this time of year...is to venture out...and see all the fabulous window displays...last year...my favorite had to be...one that i unfortunately did not see in person...but thought it spectacular none the less...the perfect "accessorizing of the tree" at oscar de la renta...wasn't she a beauty?

this year was no different...i made my several trips out to union square in san francisco...saw my favorite tree inside the neiman marcus...tried to avoid the window displays at macy's...not because they aren't worth looking at...but because the windows are full of puppies & kittens waiting to be adopted...and believe me...i know me...and i'd be coming home with animals...not gifts...

but i digress...

this year...my favorite window display was at santana row in san jose...at ted baker london...how adorable is this santa?

think marilyn monroe on this number...for his skirt would hike up to reveal some sexy fishnets...on santa...ok...maybe not the traditional look for santa...but fabulous...none the less...

may your weekend be fabulous...

sequins...

...are a fabulous way to glam up the drab old winter wardrobe...and ring in some holiday cheer...adding luster to your face...and brightening the eyes...and the best part...around this time of year...sequins are everywhere! and you don't need a whole heck of a lot to make a statement...

it can be in your accessories...a sequined belt...shoes or clutch...a little bit sprinkled on your top...or if you are being really adventurious...why not go all out...and skip the lbd this year for the holiday party...and opt for a gold or bronze sequined number...ooh la la!

in any event...sparkle sparkle sparkle...

twinkle twinkle...

i was very surprised to get several emails from readers wondering what my christmas tree was like...so...her it is...in all her glory...i opted for my faux tree...and although that is definately not my first choice...as i love the smell of a christmas tree...this year...with my schedule...it just didn't work out...but...my plan "b" is not too bad...because she still holds elements that i hold dear...the tree is gold...(love that) the lights still twinkle...and she stands 7 1/2 feet tall...and although for the longest time...when my cats would sit under the "real" tree...i thought it was because they were finally as close as they would get to the outdoor world...being in tune with nature and all that...i find...that they like sitting under the faux one...just as much...

here...chester is modeling for me...looks like i better get going with my christmas shopping...as the tree is looking pretty scarce...
