meet my new cookie jar...

is this not the cutest cookie jar?  it was given to me last nite by my dear friend virginia...and while i will need to find something to store in it...other then cookies...well...truth be told...cookies wouldn't last long enough in my house to be stored in a cookie jar...yeah...no discipline in the sweets department...

but i had to share...love the black and white theme with a pop of red...goes perfect actually...in my office...so whether it be full of something or not...it will definitely bring a smile to my face every time i look at it...

just because...

there is something so special about a "just because" gift...personally...i love them almost as much as i love giving them to friends and family...what does it signify?  basically...someone thought of you and only you when they saw a certain object...

in this case...it was this lovely wine glass...which my sweet friend linda saw...and immediately thought of me...awww...how does that not warm someones heart?  she presented it to me while we were having a girls chat session over several pomegranate martini's...

the wine glass has lovely lipstick and hats all around it...and "not a day over fabulous" written in pink & black...i'm sure my wine will be tasting better when it is served in this glass...

chocolate high heel shoes...

seriously...how fabulous are these? i came across them while searching for something or other...well...no...let's be honest...i was searching for chocolates... =) who would not want to receive these? great gift idea...no?

rare bird of fashion...

so...i arrived home today to a little package on my doorstep...from a dear dear friend...imagine my complete delight when i opened said package to see "rare bird of fashion - the irreverent iris apfel" les sigh...first of all...i j'adore everything about iris apfel...and the fact that i didn't have this beautiful coffee table book in my ever growing stash of designer/fashion books...well...there just wasn't an explanation...i've already thumbed through the book...oh the pictures...the colors...the drama...the fabulousness of it all...

i'm sure that i will be reading this from front cover to back tonite...more then once...slight obsession? perhaps...but it's all about iris apfel... =)

it was a while back...one of my friends on facebook had posted some pictures of shoes...and asked everyone to pick their favorites...seems like an easy enough task...how fun to pick your favorite shoes...one person would get picked to win a selection of the shoes notecards...

i won! and i received them today...they are adorable!! fifi flowers is the artist of these lovely notecards...the best part? there is a bit of parisian flair in all she does...le sigh...in fact...she is described as "painter of whimsy and fun with a parisian flair...

a sweet surprise...and in leopard...

ok...so yesterday our boxes full of luscious clothes were being delivered for the fall/winter jana kos collection trunk show...(going on now) my business partner (and wonderful friend) adena was flying back from a trip to the east coast...so...i was left to head on out to her home to greet the ups man...of course...ups...due to arrive anytime between 8am and noon...so much for a smaller window of time...=)

this meant i needed to be dressed and out the door...early...with time for a starbucks stop before...

got to adena's house...let myself in...set-up my laptop at her desk...and this was waiting for me there...

seriously...can she be any sweeter? i love surprises...who doesn't? especially when it is just a "thinking about you" or "thought you would like this" gift...
