what i love about this time of year...

...would be...mostly the gorgeous weather...but when it comes to fashion...this is the time that all the lovely thick september issues start arriving at my door...thank goodness my mailman likes me...because these babies are heavy! and he is getting an arm workout...

instyle 600+ pages
harper's bazaar 508+ pages
marie claire 296+ pages (wimpy wimpy wimpy is playing in my head)

still waiting on a few more...obviously...where's my elle??

point being...that my lovely mailman delivers these heavy thick mags (most of which won't fit in my mailbox) to my door...

and inside these beauties?? my favorite time of year for shopping...i am definately a summer girl for weather...and a fall girl for fashion...

and as so eloquently stated in "the september issue" - the documentary following vogue editor-in-chief anna wintour's preparation for the 2007 issue...
"september is the january of fashion"

and i'm lovin the fall fashions this year...

Those of us whose business is fashion get plenty of fashion magazines. But it's fun to find fashion news in non-fashion magazines, like this month's Departures magazine. The Hermes stiletto spectators on the cover are fabulous (at a not-so-fabulous price of $1275!) The problem is - once you see something like this that is perfect, style-wise, then try to find something similar at a better price point, you're pretty much on a wild goose chase.

Besides these great shoes, there are stories about how the shopping in Dallas has continued unabated (you go girls!)....the Vera Wang rise from an editor at Vogue to a designer of bridal couture to just 'designer' (loved the photo of her black - yes, black! - wedding dress!)...men's custom boxers (I kid you not!)..and lots of other fun-to-read articles.

I'm off on my goose chase for the perfect, affordable spectators - let me know if you find them!

happy saturday! fashion funnies day! i laughed when i saw this comic strip...as i have had several conversations with different fashion bloggers this week about keeping or getting rid of all the fashion magazines that accumulate...
