biohazard spring 2012...

the fabulous AND gorgeous stacy lomman has done it again...and to say that i am obsessed with this dress...would be an understatement...isn't it amazing??

so...i have to say...the first thing that i loved about this collection...was all the color...which if you knew stacy...you would know...she is not into color...or at least doesn't wear a lot of it...we've talked on numerous occasions about my love for color...and well her love for black...oh...and she loves white...

stacy and i first met on twitter...and it was a week before fashion week last year in new york...that we talked about possibly meeting face to face...but hello...it was a week before her show...so it didn't happen...but...i can still call her my friend...and brag about how absolutely fabulously talented she is...

take a peak at her spring 2012 collection...and try not to swoon...biohazard...as stacy will explain...is the name of her collection...

a few funny tidbits about the show...that's official "radioactive" tape on the zipper pull of the dress i love...kind of unique...stacy got that from her sister's lab...

oh...and the bride's face mask was from the lab of the guy who invented gatorade...courtesy of stacy's sister...

and the guest goodie bags at the show...contained...official...ziploc/lab specimen/biohazard bags...

aren't you dying to know why she called her collection biohazard?? take a look at the video clip below to see all her fabulous pieces...to which...may i add...she poured over each piece with her own hands...did i mention how talented she is?

my hope is that next year...i will be able to see her show "live"...

so...which would you choose?

marie claire did an article about a week ago on:

the luxe list: luxury gifts for women...
turn off your guilt switch and indulge with these fantastically glamorous gifts...

the list includes...

everlon diamond pendant
gold i-pod touch
algonquin round table experience
resort vacation
designer loveseat
black caviar
airplane and pilot training
designer shoes
tiffany & co. ring
digital camera
designer clutch
chocolate trunk
sonic chair
limited edition perfume
dinner in the sky
rent an aston martin

did someone say chocolate trunk?? a girl can only dream...

"As purveyors of some of the finest cocoa confections this side of the equator, MarieBelle now offers the ultimate travel accessory for the girl who plans on seeing both sides of that line. For the posh world traveler, the chocolatier has commissioned this exquisitely designed, custom Italian leather traveling trunk — but before she can stuff its drawers full of this year's fashions, she'll have to work through 5 pounds of chocolate, 350 pieces of rich ganache, and four tins of Aztec hot chocolate. (mariebelle.com, $15,000)"

oh cherish the thought...5 pounds of chocolate, 350 pieces of rich ganache, and four tins of aztec hot chocolate...AND a lovely custom italian leather traveling trunk =)

facing the facts...

what fits me??

the color might be perfect...the pattern and texture may be pure genius...but if the lines of an outfit are off and it doesn't fit properly, then you might as well toss in the towel and begin again...(or find a great tailor)

line and fit are about how clothes conform to your body...proportion is the key for visual effect...as for fit, your clothes should feel like a second skin...sometimes, this depends on the brilliance of the designer...has he draped, cut, tucked, and sewn seams in ways that not only inspire wonder, but also hide your weak spots? and you...have you chosen to dress in something that really suits you? it can be baggy or tight, short or long, or even asymetrical...just as long as it's supposed to be that way on you...

confronting the mirror can be tough...but the alternative - a blind certainty that bold horizontal stripes bring out the best in your figure...is worse...by far...
see yourself clearly, but be gentle...

are you petite? rubensesque? do you hate your elbows? even if green is the color of the moment...does it make you look like someone who resides in a damp, mossy crevice? are you the proud owner of the world's best collarbone? bellybutton? calf muscles? if so, terrific! go out and find something that will show them off...

the more you know about your body - sizes, good sides and bad sides, spandex tolerance - the better you'll be dressing for yourself...not a salesperson, your mother, or to make your significant other jealous...

by all means, fall in love with magazine spreads, but be self-assured enough to realize when something's just not for you...
