BIG JEWELRY IS HOT!
WHITE is the new BLACK!
Floral prints? Nope.

Big Jewelry - SO Yesterday
Rock Your Mini!
SAY 'YES' TO POLKA DOTS!
Torn Jeans - A Fashion Must!
Are You Still Wearing Purple?!

second strip:
1st woman: luann! what are you doing?!
luann: giving up. i'd move to a nudist colony if i knew what to pack...

pops of color...

as i was diligently cleaning out my office yesterday...i started flipping through last year's march 2010 issue of harper's bazaar...what? don't you get distracted when cleaning? came across this wonderful spread that just screams color...which always puts a smile on my face...kind of went along with my post from yesterday...aren't these colors divine?

adding pops of color...

color is showing up on the runways...in the stores...such a big part of the trends this coming season...so the question is..."how do you get more confident adding pops of color to your wardrobe?"

for those of us with "abundant black disorder" it may be daunting to think of adding color into our wardrobes...but there are easy ways for the color-shy to begin incorporating a few brighter elements...

first...just try adding your favorite color in an accessory - like a handbag or shoes or maybe a scarf...maybe you will add a blouse or other underpinning in a color that complements your complexion...

if you're feeling bolder with color combos...try combining colors on the opposite sides of the color wheel, i.e. violet and yellow...blue and orange...remember...with so many shades of one color..start small...for example...violet with bright yellow may seem daunting...but look at a pale version of yellow...and a color scheme within the purple family...

on a scale of 1 to 10...how comfortable do you feel wearing color? are you at the..."i can add it in a scarf...perhaps"...or are you at the full on..."give me two bold colors to put together"?

can i have an olive with that?

although black will never really go away...there are definately some new neutrals coming in strong for fall this year...so what will you be sporting?

what is the new black this season? is it grey? yes! but it is also camel...even better if worn together...grey & camel...such a beautiful combination...i have some clients that can't wear these colors around their face..but that is ok...and still doable...when these colors wash you out...or just aren't the colors that are best suited for you...then opt for these colors in your pants or skirts, shoes, belts...if you are able to wear them around your face...do it up in scarves, jackets etc...

another biggie this season is olive green...think army green (one of my personal favorites...i have to admit) although this color tends to have a more casual vibe...there are ways to dress it up...and being that this color is big this season...we will probably be seeing it in blouses & dresses...jackets...handbags...be still my heart... =)

so...since military fashion is sure to dominate this fall...will it invade your closet?

the best and worst of 2009...

when it comes to the fashions of 2009...let us just say...that there are some i am happy to say goodbye to...i am pretty open minded when it comes to fashion trends...and working current trends into an existing wardrobe...it truly is a passion for me...but then there are some trends that just leave you wondering...what were they thinking?

i came across a great article on the best and worst fashion trends of the decade...definately a great read with a little humor mixed in...

and then...i just had to share this fabulous post by bailey, meister & co - through the looking glass - a nice summary of different bloggers sharing their favorite & worst trends...

seems the harem pant wasn't very popular...although i know of one person who wears them well...and when i get her permission...i will post her pic to show you!

UPDATE: kelly gave me permission to post her pics...i think you will agree...very few can pull off this look...but kelly does it well! if you want style inspiration...i highly recommend you follow her fabulous blog the glamourai

here she is showing how to wear harem pants!

and here...

seriously...no messing with perfection =)

so what were your favorites? what were the items that you are ready to say goodbye to?
